About
Andrée is a multi-instrumentalist beatmaker born in France in 1977. He grew up listening to his father's piano and his grandfather's saxophone. From an early age, he practiced music, but was not at all into learning music theory. So he taught himself first the piano, then the guitar and finally the flute.
At the age of 14, he made a discovery that would mark a turning point in his life: jazz. A recording of pianist Monty Alexander's concert it the Montreux Jazz Festvial introduced him to a new musical universe that would durably feed his passion. Four years later, he immersed himself in computer code and the digital arts, and naturally explored the possibilities of Computer-Aided Music.
In 2002, Andrée founded the group FAZZ with Remy Roux-Probel and Philippe Juven. Inspired by artists such as Marc Moulin, Air and Saint Germain, the group produced a first album in 2007 : a sound that one could described as electro jazz.
In 2013, a new collaboration was born when Andrée formed the group Preacherz, alongside bassist Simon Saint-Hiller and beatmaker Laurent Pirbay. Together, they recorded the album "Bad Characterz", marked by an energetic, raw and uncompromising instrumental style, skilfully blending hip-hop and progressive rock.
In 2014, Andrée moved to Belgium, where he continue to compose and produce More confidentially. For seven years, he devoted himself to promoting the Belgian jazz scene. And in 2021, alongside pianist Joachim Caffonnette, he carried out an emblematic project: the reopening of a legendary jazz club in Brussels, Sounds Jazz Club.
Andrée's career is marked by a great passion for music and the exploration of many artistic horizons. His approach as a producer and his commitment to the Belgian jazz scene inspire his creative work on a daily basis.
In 2023, Andrée decided to open his drawers and rewire his old hard drives. Eight tracks emerged, which he compiled on a new album entitled "Without", a work that fully expresses his musical sensibility and his constant quest to blend electronic and analog sounds.
